FAQ
Quick overview of the strategy builder and backtest features.
What is backtest in plain words?
A backtest runs your betting strategy against historical data. You set entry rules (sport, league, odds range, market, filters) and see how the idea would have performed in the past — how many triggers, what ROI, and how the equity curve moved.
In essence it is a rehearsal of your strategy on real matches and real bookmaker lines — without financial risk. Useful for testing a hypothesis, finding weak spots and comparing variants before going live.
How do I create and run a strategy?
You can build a strategy in two ways:
- Via the visual builder — on the "Create strategy" tab pick sport, leagues, bet types, odds range, match minute and stat conditions (pressure, shots, xG, form, streaks, etc.) — all via dropdowns and sliders.
- By describing in words — type your idea as plain text in the top field, e.g. "live bet on Over 2.5 after the 60th minute in EPL matches at 0:0 with home pressure > 60". Our AI parses the description and fills the builder for you — you can then tweak it manually.
After setting parameters click "Run backtest" — the system runs the strategy over the match archive and returns a report: ROI, win rate, equity curve, list of triggered bets. To save the template use "Save strategy" — it lands in the "My strategies" tab.
Why use backtesting?
- validate the effectiveness of your idea on a long sample;
- find mistakes in past decisions and understand why the strategy dipped;
- pick the optimal filters and odds range before going live;
- compare several variants of one strategy by ROI and win rate.
Note: a backtest shows past performance and does not guarantee future results. The longer the sample and the tighter the filters, the more reliable the conclusions.
How do I improve a strategy from backtest results?
After the backtest a button appears in the form: "Improve strategy". It automatically runs dozens of extra filters and parameters on top of your conditions — odds ranges, minutes, stat thresholds (pressure, shots, xG, streaks, form edge), league cutoffs etc. — and picks the ones that improve ROI and stability.
You get:
- an "Improved strategy" summary with a new equity curve and ROI — side by side with the original;
- a list of specific conditions to add, each with its impact on the result;
- an "Apply improved" button — one click loads the new version into the builder; you can re-run or save it as a separate strategy.
If no improvements are found, the system says so: the strategy is already optimal or there is too little data for statistically significant conclusions.
